Announcements

Announcements published in the American News are free of charge and can publish any day of the week.  Announcements can also be viewed online at www.aberdeennews.com.  Photos may be added to the announcement for a $10.00 fee (tax included).  Photos will not be published online.  Announcement information and payment must be received five days prior to publication date.  Photos should be of professional quality.  The American News cannot guarantee quality of reproduction on non-professional prints.   Photos can be e-mailed to americannews@aberdeennews.com.  They must be attached to the e-mail in .jpeg format.  To mail your photo, send to:  American News Attn: Announcements PO Box 4430 Aberdeen, SD 57402-4430.  Please include names with the photo.  Photos may be picked up at the editorial reception desk of the American News, or include a self-addressed stamped envelope of the appropriate size to have your photo returned to you.
**Payment is required before the announcement will publish.

Engagement Announcements
Engagement announcements are printed on a first-come, first-serve basis as space permits.  Please provide all requested information and spelling of names.  Town names should be included.  The couple or couple's parents must be residents or former residents of a town in the American News coverage area.  Grandparents names are not included.  If you desire, you do not have to fill in the academic and employment information or information about parents.

Wedding Announcements
Wedding announcements are printed on a first-come, first-serve basis as space permits.  To assure publication of a wedding story while it is still newsworthy, the wedding announcement form and picture of bride and groom should be submitted immediately following the wedding.  Please provide all requested information and spelling of names.  Indicate proper identification of parents.  Grandparents names are not included. Couple or parents must be residents or former residents of a town in the American News coverage area. 

Birth Announcements
The American News does not publish photos with birth announcements.  Parents who have different last names or are not married must both sign the birth announcement form.  The form can be dropped off at the American News or can be mailed to: American News Attn: Announcements PO Box 4430 Aberdeen, SD 57402-4430.

Birthday Announcements
Birthday Announcements may be published for persons celebrating 60 or more years. 

Anniversary Announcements
Anniversary Announcements may be published for couples celebrating 25 or more years.
